The MoU will establish a collaborative framework based on NOV’s drilling automation system NOVOS and other energy carbon optimization solutions including robotics technology on Velesto-operated rigs to support performance and safety.
Other goals are to optimize drilling operations efficiency in Malaysia, reduce emissions, and deliver cost efficiencies through advanced automation and digitalization technologies.
Petronas will provide operational guidance on deployments of NOVOS and robotics. Velesto will oversee integration and optimization of these systems on its drilling rigs, with NOV providing technical support and training for local use, along with knowledge transfer.
