Aker BP has permission from the Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) to use the Noble Invincible jackup for production drilling on the Tambar Øst field in the southern Norwegian North Sea.
The consent covers drilling of wells 1/3-K-5 and 1/3-K-3.
Tambar Øst, discovered in 2007, is 2 km east of the Tambar field in 70 m water depth. To date, the field has been producing from a single well drilled from the Tambar platform.
Havtil has also authorized Norwegian gas trunklines operator Gassco to perform modifications on the Draupner E and South facilities in the North Sea as part of the"Draupner robustness project."
Both structures are connected to Norway’s gas transport pipeline network; Equinor acts as the technical services provider.
Draupner S began operating in April 1985 as part of the Statpipe system. Draupner E was installed in 1994 as part of the Europipe I pipeline from the Equinor-operated Sleipner field to Emden on the German North Sea coast.
