HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count increased by four over the past week to reach 22, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Mar. 24, 2017. That number is down by two year-over-year.
The overall US offshore drilling rig count mirrored the US Gulf of Mexico rig count; but the overall total is down by four year-over-year.
The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by 15 week-over-week at 824, with oil rigs up by 10 to 662, gas rigs up by five to 160, and miscellaneous rigs up by two.
Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is up by 374, with oil rigs up by 300, gas rigs up by 72, and miscellaneous rigs up by two.
