ABERDEEN, UK --The semisubmersible Sedco 704 is set to drill the East prospect in the North Sea this October. AGR Peak Well Management is running the program on behalf of operator Dana Petroleum, according to partner Antrim Energy.
East Kerloch is in block 211/22a northwest area, around 2 km (1.24 mi) from the 211/22a-1 discovery that tested up to 1,272 b/d of oil from Tarbert sandstone. The location is 10 km (6.21 mi) northwest of the Antrim-operated Causeway well 211/23d-17z, drilled mid-2006, which tested 14,500 b/d of oil from the Jurassic Brent and Tarbert formations.
The 40-day well in October will target oil-prone Jurassic Brent sandstones adjacent to the Cormorant field. Antrim also plans to start a new multi-well campaign on Causeway this spring.
