HOUSTON – The logs on three Bua Ban development wells in the Gulf of Thailand are encouraging, says Coastal Energy Co. Bua Ban A-01, A-02, and A-05 each indicated pay in the Oligocene.
Bua Ban A-01 reached TVD of 7,725 ft (2,355 m) with 24 ft of net pay in the Lower Oligocene. A-02 reached TVD of 7,722 ft (2,354 m) with 26 ft of net Lower Oligocene pay. A-05 reached TVD of 7,492 ft (2,284 m) with 170 ft of net pay in both the Upper and Lower Oligocene.
Coastal is completing each well and expects production soon. Another seven development wells are scheduled by the end of September.
