The jackupMaersk Guardian is drilling well 3/8-1 for operator Lundin Norway in license PL400 in the southern part of the Norwegian North Sea, close to the median line with the Danish sector.

The well is designed to target Permian-age sandstones in a four-way dip and fault-bounded structural closure. Lundin assesses Barchan’s prospective resources at 150 MMboe.

Planned total depth is around 4,000 m (13,123 ft) below mean sea level. Drilling should take around 60 days.
