NEW ORLEANS – McMoRan Exploration Co. says its Blueberry Hill #9STK1 well in Louisiana State Lease 340 in 10 ft of water has hydrocarbon indications.
A “high-quality sand measuring 105 ft” was indicated on gamma ray and resistivity data from LWD tools with the well at TVD of 23,630 ft (7,202 m). McMoRan says it will continue drilling deeper.
McMoRan holds 42.9% working interest with Plains Exploration & Production Co. having the remainder.
