PERTH, Australia – Tap Oil says the Mubadala Petroleum-led partnership has agreed to drill four firm wells and one contingent well this year at the Manora oil field in the G1/48 permit offshore Thailand.
The program will comprise three development wells, due to start drilling in July, with one firm exploration well in November, and one further exploration well contingent on rig slot availability.
It follows a review late last year of production operations and successful drilling, geological and geophysical activities during 2018.
Prioritized investments include workovers to help lift reserves, production, and cash flow thereby extending the field’s economic life, and de-bottlenecking of facilities, including water injection capacity enhancement.
Two of this year’s development wells will be in the Manora 300 series sands discovered in 2018, with a third in the 490-60 reservoir delineated in late 2017 by the MNA-18 well.
The partners will determine the locations during 2Q. They have also drawn up a list of near-field exploration drilling opportunities, with three prospect clusters high-graded that could be tested via a combination of exploration wells and side tracks.
