SHARJAH, UAE – Lamprell has won a $227-million contract from an unnamed drilling contractor for construction of a newbuild jackup rig.
This will be a fully outfitted and equipped, LeTourneau designed, self-elevating mobile offshore drilling platform of a Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design.
It will be able to operate in water depths of up to 350 ft (107 m), with a rated drilling depth of 30,000 ft (9,144 m). Fabrication will be performed at Lamprell’s Hamriyah yard, and should be completed late in 2014.
