LONDON – Plexus Holdings has secured a three-year agreement with an unnamed international oil and gas producer to provide relief well standby wellhead equipment in the UK North Sea.
Plexus’ 18-¾ in. 15,000-psi (1,034-bar) wellhead equipment with mudline suspension casing support will be on standby and maintained in a ready to deploy state during the contract period.
This will form part of contingency planning in the event that a relief well is needed during an oil and gas development program in the UK sector. Additionally, Plexus will supply wellhead equipment for the drilling of an HP/HT well in the North Sea and optional side tracks.
Total value is estimated to be more than $9.4 million.
Due to demands for increased spill response and well control contingencies, the operator has opted to ensure that suitable HP/HT wellhead equipment is available for a relief well in the event of an incident during the HP/HT oil and gas field development.
