STOCKHOLM, Sweden –Lundin Petroleum AB has started drilling the Berangan 1, the second well in its 2012 Malaysian campaign. The well is in block SB303, offshore Sabah, Malaysia.
The well is in 70 m (230 ft) of water and its target is mid-Miocene sands at 1,700 m (5,577 ft) in a faulted anticline in an undrilled sub-basin 10 km (6.2 mi) southeast of theTarap gas discovery.
Lundin holds 75% interest in the block, with PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd with 25%.
