LONDON --Appraisal drilling on the Bream oil field in the Norwegian North Sea should start in March, says partner Premier Oil.
The field was discovered in 1971 close to the Talisman-operated Yme re-development. Recoverable reserves are estimated at 40-100 MMboe – Premier holds 20% of the license, and is also operator of an adjoining exploration block.
Elsewhere in the Norwegian sector, Premier plans to acquire 3D seismic shortly over its operated PL406 license. It is also partnering Pertra on the proposed re-development of the Froy field.
The partners opened the tender process for Froy's production facility late last year. Lead times suggest first production is likely in 2011, Premier says.
