LONDON -- Tullow Oil has had more success offshore Ghana with its latest (and final) appraisal well on the Tweneboa structure.
The DP drillshipDeepwater Millennium drilled the Tweneboa-4 appraisal well in 1,436 m (4,711 ft) of water in the Deepwater Tano license, encountering gas condensate in good quality sandstone reservoirs.
Analysis of drilling, wireline logs and reservoir fluid samples confirm the western extent of the Tweneboa accumulation.
The well was drilled on the structure’s western flank, 3.9 km (2.4 mi) southwest of the Tweneboa-2 appraisal well. It intersected 18 m (59 ft) of net gas condensate pay in stacked reservoir sandstones which are in static pressure communication with both Tweneboa-1 and Tweneboa-2.
On completion of operations, Tweneboa-4 will be suspended for use in future field appraisal and development. The rig will next conduct drillstem tests on the Tweneboa-2 oil and gas-condensate accumulations.
