TRONDHEIM, Norway -- Statoil has found hydrocarbons in the Askja prospect in the Norwegian North Sea.
Partner Det norske oljeselskap said this assessment is based on pressure measurements from the 30/11-9-S well inlicense PL 272. Drilling operations are continuing.
Statoil has a 50% operating interest, in partnership with Det norske and Svenska Petroleum.
