KOKSTAD, Norway – Equinor has exercised an option with Odfjell Drilling to retain the semisubmersible Deepsea Atlantic for an additional well.
This was a continued optionality mechanism inserted in the contract in May 2018, as part of the master frame agreement between the two companies.
Drilling will start after the rig has completed its current scope this summer. Commercial terms will be similar to the Deepsea Atlantic’s Johan Sverdrup Phase 2 contract which is due to start at the location in the North Sea early next year.
