LYNGBY, Denmark – Total has issued a conditional letter of award to Maersk Drilling for two deepwater rigs for exploration and appraisal in block 58 offshore Suriname.
The campaign is set to start early next year, with an estimated firm duration (for the two rigs combined) of 500 days and a total contract value of around $100 million.
This includes rig upgrades and provision of integrated services.
The Mærsk Developer, one of the nominated rigs, is a DSS-21 column-stabilized DP semisubmersible, currently operating offshore Suriname.
The other, Maersk Valiant is a 7th generation drillship with integrated MPD capability, currently warm-stacked nearby in Aruba after finishing a campaign in Mexico earlier this year.
