Shell prolongs Maersk jackup contract offshore Brunei

Brunei Shell Petroleum has taken up an option to extend its contract extension for the jackup Maersk Convincer.

LYNGBY, Denmark – Brunei Shell Petroleum has taken up an option to extend its contract extension for the jackup Maersk Convincer.

The rig will now continue to operate offshore Brunei Darussalam for an anticipated duration of 602 days.

This will take effect in May in direct continuation of the rig’s current work scope.

Maersk Drilling estimates the firm contract value at around $47 million, excluding a potential performance bonus.

The Maersk Convincer is a Baker Pacific Class 375 cantilever jackup, delivered in 2008 and designed for year-round operation.

It is operating at present on the Seria field offshore Brunei Darussalam.
