Pacific Sharav to drill for Murphy in the Gulf of Mexico

LUXEMBOURG – Pacific Drilling has issued an update on its deepwater drillship fleet.

Murphy Oil Corp. has awarded the Pacific Sharav a 10-firm well contract in the US Gulf of Mexico. It The contract includes five option wells. It is expected to start in 2Q 2021. The day rate is $180,000.

However, Murphy canceled the drillship’s two-well contract offshore Mexico.

Also, Equinor canceled the third firm well for the Pacific Khamsin in the Gulf of Mexico. Its contract is now expected to end in September.
