Shell subsidiary BG International has contracted the semisubmersible Mærsk Developer for a two-well development drilling program offshore Trinidad and Tobago.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark – Shell subsidiary BG International has contracted the semisubmersible Mærsk Developer for a two-well development drilling program offshore Trinidad and Tobago.
According to operator Maersk Drilling, the 171-day firm contract, valued at $39 million, should start in 1Q 2020.
There are five additional one-well options.
The Mærsk Developer is a DSS-21 column-stabilized dynamically positioned semi, designed to operate in water depths up to 10,000 ft (3,048 m). It is currently in action offshore Mexico.
