SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Eni and partner TotalEnergies have made a third gas discovery in Block 6 offshore southern Cyprus.
Transocean’s drillship Tungsten Explorer drilled the Zeus-1 well in 2,300 m of water, 162 km offshore and 5 km east of the Cronos discovery. The well delivered 105 m of net gas pay in a carbonate reservoir sequence, with estimated in-place resources in the range 2-3 tcf.
Analysis is under way of the test that followed. Results of the test are being incorporated into studies for a fast-track development of the gas cluster (Caypso-1 was the first find on the block).
