DeepOcean, Exceed join forces on vessel-based well P&A
Nov. 13, 2024
The partnership will combine DeepOcean’s subsea engineering and fleet of work ROVs and supporting subsea vessels with Exceed’s well decommissioning capabilities.
Edda Freya is one of DeepOcean's construction vessels. It is involved in a 120-day program in which DeepOcean is providing extensive decommissioning and recycling for an unnamed UK North Sea operator (the contract was announced in June).
DeepOcean and Exceed have entered an agreement to jointly provide vessel-based well P&A services globally.
The partnership will combine DeepOcean’s subsea engineering and fleet of work ROVs and supporting subsea vessels with Exceed’s well decommissioning capabilities, forming a single contract, turnkey P&A service for decommissioning.
That will include equipment, planning, execution and a full audit trail to support repurposing and reuse of covered structures.
Recently the two companies completed a multi-well, vessel-based P&A campaign for Serica Energy in the UK North Sea. The partners said their joint campaign delivered time and cost savings as well as reduced CO2 emissions compared with rig-based P&A activity.
Exceed also offers what it says is a fully compliant subsea wellhead removal service.
