FORNEBU, Norway — Aker Solutions has won a contract to dismantle and recycle a platform topside and jacket (not named) in the North Sea area.
These comprise a 19,000-metric-ton topside and a 10,000-mt jacket.
Saipem’s heavy-lift vessel Saipem 7000 will deliver the topside structures mainly as modules to the company’s specialized decommissioning yard in western Norway during 2025-2027. The jacket will be delivered in two sections along with some minor items.
Aker Solutions will work to recycle close to 98% of the removed structures.
