Magda Chambriard takes the helm as Petrobras CEO

Petrobras has appointed Magda Chambriard as a member of the board of directors and elected her as the company's new CEO.

RIO DE JANEIRO — Petrobras has appointed Magda Chambriard as a member of the board of directors and elected her as the company's new CEO.

Chambriard took office in both positions on May 24.

Petrobras approved the early termination of Jean Paul Prates' mandate as CEO through negotiation on May 15. He also submitted his resignation as a member of the board of directors.

Chambriard began her career at Petrobras in 1980, always working in the Production area. She was transferred to ANP in 2002 to advise the Exploration and Production department. She became head of ANP’s Directory in 2008, and head of the Director General Office in 2012.
