Saudi Aramco technologist wins SPE award

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) International has awarded Ali H. Dogru the Reservoir Description and Dynamics Award for 2008.

DHAHRAN, Saudi Arabia -- The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) International has awarded Ali H. Dogru the Reservoir Description and Dynamics Award for 2008.

Dogru is the chief technologist of the computational modeling technology team for EXPEC ARC for Saudi Aramco. Dogru is known for his work in reservoir simulation, most recently, the POWERS program for Saudi Aramco, which improves production efficiency. He also co-developed an ultrasound multi-phase flow meter.

Dogru is the 25th person and the first Saudi Aramco employee to receive the award. He is chairman of SPE Journal of Petroleum Technology Special Series Committee, of which he has been a member for the past six years.
