ABERDEEN, Scotland— Fraser Moonie has been appointed COO of Rovco, a global provider of technology-enabled project solutions to the offshore renewable energy sector.
Moonie has 25-plus years of industry experience with subsea sector service companies. A former chief executive of Decom North Sea, much of his relevant experience came from his time with Bibby Offshore Ltd. He was one of a small leadership team who helped grow the business from startup to a major international player in the subsea energy market over 15 years. Moonie rose through the ranks, joining as commercial manager and then spending his later years with the company as COO, helping internationalize the business and developing the skillset, which aligns with the requirements of Rovco’s current growth trajectory.
Over the past 18 months, as regional director for Mermaid Subsea Services UK, Moonie has worked to bring the Asia-based subsea contractor Mermaid Group to the UK market, seeing it win major decommissioning contracts with North Sea operators shortly before he took up his new role with Rovco.
