Skyborn Renewables names new CEO

HAMBURG, Germany — Thomas Karst has been appointed CEO of Skyborn Renewables, replacing Achim Berge Olsen, who will remain with Skyborn as a member of the Strategic Advisory Board.

Karst's career spans more than 30 years, with experience executing international infrastructure projects. He has worked for companies such as Siemens Gamesa, MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, Ørsted and Make Consulting.

Skyborn was launched by GIP, an independent global infrastructure investor, in September 2022, following the acquisition of 100% of the business, which was previously operated as wpd offshore.

In addition to Karst, the Skyborn executive team includes:

• João Metelo, chief investment and financial officer;
• Morten Melin, COO; and
• Cathrin Browne, general counsel.
