Former Dominion Energy chairman passes away

Thomas F. Farrell, II, former chairman, president, and CEO of Dominion Energy Inc., has died at the age of 66.

RICHMOND, Virginia Thomas F. Farrell, II, former chairman, president, and CEO of Dominion Energy Inc., has died at the age of 66.

Farrell served as the company’s chairman, president, and CEO from 2007 to 2020. He had been battling cancer, which took a sudden turn in recent weeks, the company said.

He was named president and COO in 2004, and president and CEO in 2006, and was elected chairman in 2007 – a post he held until April 1, 2021.

Chairman, President, and CEO Robert M. Blue said: “In his tenure at the company, Tom oversaw an era of prosperity and growth, and a long-term transformation that will have a lasting impact on clean energy development and on the health of the environment. Above all else, he loved spending time with his wife, his sons and their spouses, and his grandchildren. We will miss him greatly, and extend our deepest condolences to his loving family.”
