Amarinth, GTT awarded work for two Coral FLNGs offshore Mozambique

Oct. 23, 2024
Amarinth has secured a $1 million order for API 610 OH2 pumps with Plan 53B seal support systems for the Coral North LNG project in Mozambique.

Amarinth will supply API 610 OH2 pumps for the Coral North LNG project in Mozambique.

The Eni-operated Coral South floating LNG (FLNG) platform began liquefying natural gas from the Coral field in Area 42 of the offshore Rovuma Basin in October 2022.

Coral North will feature a second FLNG, 10 km from Coral South, which will double production from the Coral field following startup in 2027.

Amarinth’s pumps, with Plan 53B seal support systems, will be configured to the latest 12th Edition standards, with additional motors and mechanical seals.

All electrical components will comply with IECEx certification for hazardous areas, with radiography testing of certain items to support long-term operational integrity in the harsh offshore conditions.

In Paris, GTT has secured a service contract for the Coral Sul FLNG barge, which has a production capacity of 3.4 MM metric tons/year of LNG and a storage capacity of 238,700 cu m.

It features a Mark III membrane containment system developed by GTT.

The company will provide technical support to safeguard operation and maintenance of the LNG storage tanks, including onsite and remote technical assistance, onsite testing, inspection, emergency assistance, engineering services and special training programs.
