LA BREA, Trinidad — Trinidad Offshore Fabricators Unlimited (TOFCO) yard is progressing fabrication of the Mento platform, according to a late March update from bp.
EOG Resources operates the Mento development under a50:50 joint venture with bpTT and EOG Resources Trinidad Ltd. Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister Keith Rowly recently toured the facility.
This is bpTT and EOG’s fourth offshore development project, following EMZ in 2011, Sercan in 2016 and Banyan in 2017.
Mento’s manned, 12-slot platform will be installed offshore Trinidad’s southeast coast, with first gas expected in 2025.
bp added that the partners continue to pursue further opportunities to develop resources in the Columbus Basin.
