HOUSTON  Halliburton has developed the Diskos 2.0 National Data Repository (NDR) for the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, hosted on Halliburton’s iEnergy cloud environment.

Diskos 2.0 stores exploration and production data from operations across the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The upgraded system incorporates automation and artificial intelligence capabilities, Halliburton said, which should lead to better insights from the data, reduced cost per byte, and the facility to handle more than 28 petabytes of data, including a copy.

Diskos’ 79 members, ranging from oil and gas companies to service providers to academia, can use the system to access seismic, well and production data in a petrotechnical software setting (Halliburton Landmark DecisionSpace 365) without having to move the information from the NDR to a local network.
