Saipem scoops $900 million of EPC work for Angola gas project

The New Gas Consortium has awarded Saipem three contracts related to a gas development project in the Lower Congo Basin offshore northwest Angola.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy  The New Gas Consortium has awarded Saipem three contracts related to a gas development project in the Lower Congo Basin offshore northwest Angola.

Consortium members Azule Energy, Sonangol P&P, Chevron and TotalEnergies have commissioned Saipem to perform engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities for the development of the offshore Quiluma and Maboqueiro fields.

The scope includes hookup and commissioning assistance for the Quiluma platform and the onshore Angola LNG plant that will receive the field’s production.

This is Angola’s first out-and-out non-associated gas field development.

Total value of the work to Saipem is about $900 million.
