LAVAL, Quebec – Camfil Power Systems has introduced PowerEye, which it describes as the industry’s first predictive analytics engine that quantifies the impact of ambient conditions on the performance of air inlet filtration and combustion turbines.
According to Camfil, the predictive analytics engine provides:
- Turbine performance data
- Prediction of day-ahead power output
- Pressure drop trends and predictions
- Most economical filter replacement recommendations (patented technology)
- Optimal offline water wash schedules.
Camfil says that the engine provides specialized analysis because it pulls from its proprietary filtration knowledge base. Algorithms can be used to predict how different filter and atmospheric conditions will react and affect the performance of gas turbines. Armed with this intelligence, the company says that operators can conduct predictive maintenance and address potential issues before they become costly problems resulting in downtime and equipment failure.
