STAVANGER, Norway – ONS 2020 has been canceled due to a decision by the Norwegian authorities to prohibit all events of more than 500 people until Sept. 1, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The biennial conference and exhibition had been scheduled to take place between Aug. 31 and Sept. 3 at Stavanger Forum.
In 2018, the four-day event attracted 1,200 companies and 68,000 visitors from over 100 countries. It has been staged every other year since 1974.
“ONS is of great importance for many, however health and safety must come first,” says the event’s CEO and president, Leif Johan Sevland. “We are now working through the implications of this unprecedented situation. Thereafter we will try to bring some of our program in digital formats and continue the work to bring…the best possible ONS 2022 event.”
