LONDON – Tullow Oil says its production operations across West Africa have so far not been impacted by COVID-19.
In Ghana, the government has introduced exemptions to allow charter flights for oil and gas workers into the country, allowing crew changes to continue.
However, Tullow requires all personnel arriving to then self-isolate in Ghana for two weeks before transferring to its FPSOs, ensuring that the risk of a COVID-19 outbreak offshore is minimized.
At the company’s ongoing TEN fields development, drilling continues on the new Ntomme-9 production well and this should come onstream in June.
Tullow added that its seismic acquisition program continues offshore Argentina but another seismic campaign in Côte d’Ivoire was interrupted after the service provider declared Force Majeure, in light of COVID-19 restrictions.
