Petrobras has implemented various preventive measures to minimize disruption of the Covid-19 coronavirus on its operations in Brazil.

RIO DE JANEIRO – Petrobras has implemented various preventive measures to minimize disruption of the Covid-19 coronavirus on its operations in Brazil.

The company said it had:

Intensified teleworking for all activities that can be performed remotely, carried out remotely, with all people in the heightened risk group, in any activity, teleworking. Petrobras has also advised its service providers to take the same steps.

All personnel boarding offshore facilities are undergoing temperature checks. If any employee on board develops symptoms, he or she will be immediately disembarked and everyone in close contact with this individual will be monitored.

Personnel returning from trips abroad, whether on business or on vacation, will all be quarantined and obliged to work from home.

All trips abroad have been suspended. In Brazil, travel is restricted to movements that are strictly necessary, with all prior care and health guidelines.

The company has suspended face-to-face events and meetings between more than 20 people, with more online meetings.

Intensified cleaning routines, provision of health care and guidelines for employees to ensure that all preventive measures are taken.

All these initiatives are in line with the recommendations of the World Health Organization and Brazil’s Ministry of Health and are part of a wider program by the country’s authorities to mitigate risks, reduce circulation in public spaces, and keep people in their homes.

Petrobras added that it was assessing the need for new measures daily, with a special permanent committee established to monitor the global situation.
