This collaboration enables more than 2 million of Mintra’s system users to experience gamification to enhance engagement and reinforce knowledge retention.

Mintra, a company specializing in digital learning and human capital management solutions, has partnered with PaleBlue, a provider of training and simulation technology.

This collaboration enables more than 2 million of Mintra’s system users to experience gamification to enhance engagement and reinforce knowledge retention.

The new gamified courses have been designed specifically for the oil and gas sector, with maritime-specific versions set to launch by the end of September. Safety-critical courses include "Confined Spaces," "Working at Height" and "Work authorization/ Work Permit Training." The courses are available in English and Norwegian and are available on Mintra.com.

PaleBlue’s courses offer an immersive learning experience that goes beyond passive consumption of information. The courses merge traditional training modules with game-design elements, such as scoring points, leaderboards and interactive challenges.

These new gamified courses "allow learners to immerse themselves in virtual environments, collaborate with digital co-workers and address real-world challenges in a controlled, risk-free setting," said Torbjørg Undem, Mintra’s marketplace manager. "This method shifts the focus from rote memorization to active problem-solving, ensuring that learners not only understand safety protocols but can also apply them effectively in real-world scenarios.”

At the Stavanger-based ONS 2024 event this week, Mintra is exhibiting at booth 3258 and PaleBlue at booth 4100. View the ONS program to learn more about presentations being featured at the event.
