July 17, 2024
The 12 mooring piles are currently en route to the Keathley Canyon area of the US Gulf of Mexico.

InterMoor reports that it has completed production of 12 mooring piles for the Salamanca floating production unit (FPU), and that the piles are on their way to the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.

At 16-ft OD x 80-ft in length, the piles weigh 171 short tons each for a collective weight of over 2,000 tons of steel.

InterMoor says that it provided the design of the piles from its engineering office in Houston, and carried out the steel procurement and fabrication of the piles at its Morgan City, Louisiana, facility. The teams coordinated with D3 Engineering Solutions on the project.

The Salamanca FPU will be located in Keathley Canyon block 689 in approximately 6,400 ft of water, and will be operated by LLOG Exploration Co.
