SHARJAH, UAE –Dana Gas has signed an agreement for exploration and development offshore Sharjah in the Western Offshore concession. This marks Dana's first offshore venture.
The concession covers more than 1,000 sq km (386 sq mi) and includes the Zora gas field. Work plans call for resuming two horizontal wells started by Crescent Petroleum, installation of offshore platforms for processing and production, and a 25 km (15.5 mi) pipeline. Initial spending is estimated at $65 million for exploration and another $55 million for development.
