Chevron to buy LNG from Venture Global under 20-year deal

Venture Global announced the execution of two long-term sales and purchase agreements with Chevron for the purchase of 2 mtpa of LNG for 20 years.

When fully developed, Plaquemines LNG will have an export capacity of up to 20 million metric tonnes per year. Plaquemines will have up to three ship loading berths for LNG vessels carrying a capacity of up to 185,000 cu. m.

ARLINGTON, Virginia— Venture Global announced the execution of two long-term sales and purchase agreements for the purchase of 2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG for 20 years.
Under the agreements, Chevron U.S.A. Inc. will purchase 1 mtpa from the Plaquemines LNG facility and 1 mtpa from CP2 LNG. Plaquemines LNG has been under full construction since August 2021, and the construction of CP2 LNG is expected to commence in 2023.
Venture Global is preparing to roll out trains number 55 through 90 at CP2.
