Equinor faces an investigation by Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority following a gas leak earlier this week on the Statfjord B platform in the North Sea.

OSLO, Norway — Equinor faces an investigation by Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) following a gas leak earlier this week on the Statfjord B platform in the North Sea.

This incident occurred while the process plant was running up following a shutdown for a turnaround. The leak activated several detectors.

The PSA will seek to clarify the course of events, assess the actual and potential consequences, and determine the direct and underlying causes.
