Offshore staff
SANDNES, Norway – Vår Energi has contracted CHC Helicopter Service to provide offshore personnel transportation from Stavanger Airport.
The contract, running for three years from Jan. 1, 2022 (plus options) covers crew change services via one Sikorsky S-92 helicopter for Vår-operated fields in the Balder area of the Norwegian North Sea.
It is part of the company’s co-operation agreement with Equinor on sharing capacity of one helicopter. The two parties have a similar arrangement in the Barents Sea.
The partnership also allows for better long-term planning by CHC, said Rune Meinich-Bache, aviation advisor at Vår.
Vår is currently working to extend the lifespan of the Balder field until 2045.
