Atkins, Shell sign framework agreement

Shell has awarded Atkins a five-year framework agreement to provide general and specialist technical safety and human factors engineering services to support its global projects and assets.

LONDON – Shell has awarded Atkins, a member of SNC-Lavalin Group, a five-year framework agreement to provide general and specialist technical safety and human factors engineering services to support its global projects and assets.

Work under this agreement will be delivered by the company’s teams in the US, UK, and Australia.

The scope of work includes technical safety reviews such as HAZOP and HAZID, and safety studies including quantative risk assessments, escape and evacuation, ALARP, COMAH, and safety case development and support; and specialist work around major hazards, consequence modeling and facility siting. Atkins will also deliver technical safety training program to Shell personnel, and human factors engineering services.

Craig Muir, president, Resources, SNC-Lavalin, said: “This framework agreement drives our new strategic direction and underscores our capabilities across engineering services. We will deploy a range of in-house developed digital tools that help reduce costs and improve efficiency across Shell’s onshore and offshore assets, as well as deliver safety solutions to ensure optimal safety standards to employees and the environment.”
