HOUSTON – KBR (NYSE: KBR) has established a new entity to perform general engineering and project management services under the Saudi Aramco GES+ initiative.
The company acquired the business of Saudi engineering contractor Abdulhadi and Al-Moaibed Consulting Engineering (AMCDE), and will hold a 67% interest in the resultant new entity, KBR-AMCDE.
It will provide front-end engineering and design, detailed design, procurement, and project management services for Saudi Aramco, with an initial staff of around 400.
KBR-AMCDE’s offices in Al-Khobar will perform the GES+ work under a five-year contract to support Saudi Aramco’s Capital Program, and over time, the new entity will also take on engineering work outside the hydrocarbons sector in Saudi Arabia.
