Aker Energy supporting Ghanaian oil and gas training initiative

Aker Energy, operator of the Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points block, has pledged $4.5 million to support Ghana’s Accelerated Oil and Gas Capacity-Building program.

ACCRA, GhanaAker Energy, operator of the Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points (DWT/CTP) block, has pledged $4.5 million to support Ghana’s Accelerated Oil and Gas Capacity-Building (AOGC) program.

This was launched by the Petroleum Commission in November 2017, with a view to furthering the competencies and expertise of Ghanaians in the oil and gas sector.

It seeks to train individuals in various vocational and technical areas, and to grow the capacity of the country’s educational institutions to train students and award internationally recognized training certificates.

In addition, the AOGC program, with Aker Energy’s support, will provide business and management training for small and medium enterprises and help ensure professional development of employees of various public institutions connected to the oil and gas sector.
