OSLO, Norway – BW Energy has produced first oil from the Tortue field in the Dussafu production-sharing contract offshore Gabon through the FPSOBW Adolo.
According to partner Panoro Energy, the focus now is on stabilization of production and completion of other start-up activities.
In addition, the partners are working on plans for a Tortue Phase 2 development and are appraising their recent successful well atRuche North East, following a side track and logging. Results will be announced soon.
Dussafu is an exclusive exploitation area spanning 850 sq km (328 sq mi) offshore southern Gabon and valid for 20 years from first oil.
It currently contains five presalt oil discoveries, with additional prospects and leads.
Phase 1 comprises two horizontal wells tied back to theBW Adolo.
