LARNACA, Cyprus – Four Prosafe accommodation support vessels are in action at present on offshore projects.
TheSafe Zephyrus is due to start work at Statoil’s Johan Sverdrup project in the Norwegian North Sea for a firm period of 12 months.
In the UK sector, theSafe Caledonia has a five-month contract to operate at BP’s Clair Ridge platform west of Shetland, while the Safe Boreas is on contract to Statoil at the Mariner installation in the East Shetland basin.
Although the firm contract ends early in September, Statoil can exercise six one-month extension options.
TheSafe Notos remains on duty for Petrobras offshore Brazil.
Despite its current workload Prosafe says short-term incremental activity in the North Sea remains low.
However, there has been an increase in enquiries elsewhere for accommodation support, particularly offshore Brazil and Mexico.
