LONDON – Independent Oil and Gas (IOG) has contracted Subsea 7 to provide a diving support vessel for the Thames pipeline intelligent pigging program (IPP) in the UK southern North Sea.
The IPP will include pressure tests of the pipeline before and after pigging operations. Initial results are expected by early June.
In addition, 3D seismic reprocessing to pre-stack depth migration is under way over the company’s Harvey structure in the same region to optimize the location of a planned appraisal well.
Gordon McCaig will become IOG’s Well Integrity Authority for theHarvey well and the 10 development wells the company plans for its Blythe and Vulcan Satellites hubs in the region.
Last month IOG submitted its environmental impact assessment for the Vulcan Satellites Hub to the UK’s Department of Energy and Industrial Strategy.
IOG has also contracted Wood to perform front-end engineering and design (FEED) for the subsea and pipelines scope of the dual hub development.
Heerema Fabrication Group recently completed the platform fabrication FEED and design notification is due to be submitted soon to the UK Health and Safety Executive.
IOG adds that it remains on schedule for field development plan approvals for the two hubs by the end of August, with first gas planned for 4Q 2019.
