HAMILTON, Bermuda – Golar LNG has entered agreements with BP concerning front-end engineering design (FEED) for a floating LNG (FLNG) vessel.
This would support the development of Phase 1A of theGreater Tortue/Ahmeyin field offshore Mauritania and Senegal.
Golar would progress the FEED ready for conversion of a suitable vessel from July 1 onwards, contingent on a final investment decision for the project, expected at the end of this year.
The conversion would take place at Keppel Shipyard in Singapore, which also delivered theFLNGHilli Episeyo to Golar which recently produced first LNG from gas fields offshore Cameroon.
As with the previous project,Keppel Shipyard would apply Black and Veatch Corporation’s PRICO technology for the process facilities.
The preliminary agreement also includes an option for BP to take a second FLNG vessel.
Golar Power, a joint venture with Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners, has reached financial closure on the 1.5-GW Porto de Sergipe I power project in Sergipe, northeast Brazil.
In connection with the project, the JV has also executed final agreements with CELSE to charter theGolar Nanook, a customized newbuild 170,000 cu-m (6-MMcf) floating storage and regasification unit.
