ZWIJNDRECHT, the Netherlands – Tulip Oil Netherlands Offshore has awarded Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) an EPCI contract for the Q10-A unmanned platform in the Dutch North Sea.

The Q10 gas field is 20 km (12.4 mi) offshore in shallow water. The new facility, to be installed later this year in 21 m (69 ft) water depth, will be tied back to the existing P15d platform.

Koos-Jan van Brouwershaven, HFG’s CEO, said: “We will perform the full platform FEED and EPCI in one continuous program, rather than the traditional multi-stage approach.

“This enables a fasttrack delivery program, resulting in lower execution risk.”

The Q10-A topsides will weigh around 500 metric tons (551 tons) and the jacket 600 metric tons (661 tons).
