MASSY, France – CGG has completed an extension of its Santos VII broadband 3D multi-client survey offshore Brazil.
The 1,867-sq km (721-sq mi) extension provides in total almost 16,000 sq km (6,177 sq mi) of newly acquired and imaged presalt coverage.
CGG undertook the extra shoot to fully image the prospective area after images recently delivered from fasttrack pre-stack depth migration over part of the Saturno field indicated further structure to the east.
The additional coverage, the company says, will assist interpretation and understanding of the Saturno field ahead of Brazil’s May 2018 lease round.
